Welcome to LadyGeek.Org!

I am a woman who loves to dabble in all sorts of technology (which explains the domain "LadyGeek.Org").

This particular bit of server space serves three purposes for me:
  1) as a gateway to the sites I visit frequently
  2) as a testing ground for cool code I learn
  3) as storage area for pages or graphics that won't fit or aren't appropriate for my other sites

My geek-history includes nearly 20 years of technical experience (going back the mid-1980's - old school, Baby); so far back that I was one of the first few thousand people in the world to hold a Microsoft certification, but I won't bore you with my work history. For past few years, I have been dabbling with web programming - initially html, but now php and some javascript - and enjoy creating and maintaining websites as a hobby. These days, I challenge myself by coding from scratch (using only Microsoft's Notepad) without the use of software designed to make coding easy.

I've limited access to most of my sites to a few close friends and loved ones. But, here are some of my sites for public viewing:
Andrew's Work-In-Progress House
My significant other might say this website is about his "Money Pit" (in reference to the movie by the same name). Enough said.
Positivity Zone
I created this site to provide the masses with information about how the brain forms thoughts, how to train your brain to think positive thoughts, why positive thinking is essential to living longer, and the science of Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI). The idea for it began in September '04. And I wish I had more time to work on it. As of Thanksgiving '05, the site contains is less than 50% of the material I have compiled for it! You're also welcome to visit my PositivityZone development site , where I test new pages, mess with new code, etc. PositivityZone is written nearly exclusively in php code (which uses the web server to create html code "on-the-fly" as each page loads). Some fabulous things can be done in php that simply are not possible with straight html!
AzLadyGeek.Org
I created this site so that I could go to one place to view real-time computer virus and internet security threat information from a variety of well-known companies. This site automatically pulls the most current information provided from: Internet StormCenter, TrendMicro, McAfee, and Symantic. It also contains links more of my favorite places on the Web.
AzLadyGeek.Com
This is one of my cyber-playgrounds for database related stuff. Add a joke to my list (keep them clean or I will remove them - my 7 year old visits this site on occasion). People who know me from work might enjoy my mock version of the much more robust PPPRP application we use at work. Feel free to add things. But note that there are times when I wipe out everything and start from scratch. So, don't take it personal if you enter something and it disappears a few weeks later. When that happens, it's because I was too lazy to make another backup of the database before I emptied and reloaded from an old backup file.
Sycamore Valley Chiropractic
As strange as this may sound, I do not know and have never dealt with the owner of Sycamore Valley Chiropractic. This is truly one of those "friend of a friend" situations: A friend of mine asked me to develop a website for a friend of hers. This is also one of my first websites, as you can tell if you look at the simplicity of the code.
If you have a comment, question, or suggestion, please feel free to drop me a line at ladygeek@ladygeek.org.

I hope you always enjoy your time on the Web J
